Although in French, this conference’s theme is Water and Economy. Over 5 days, this conference organized by l’Idep and the Greqam (CNRS, School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Aix-Marseille University), and partnered with the Canals Society of Provence and the French energy company, EDF, will focus on water issues throughout the world and their impact on France.

For those of you who do not know of this piece of legislation, it is a fantastic initiative started by Senator Paul Simon and carried on by various members of the US Congress on both sides of the aisle. Read more about it here.
At its core, it is a bill to provide 100,000,000 people with first-time access to safe drinking water and sanitation on a sustainable basis by 2015 by improving the capacity of the United States Government to fully implement the Senator Paul Simon Water for the Poor Act of 2005.
